DRESS CODE
Any student out of uniform will be sent to the office to call his/her parents. Parents will be expected to bring proper clothing for his/her child. Uniforms can only be purchased through Nunes Apparel Company. No other uniforms will be allowed.

GIRLS:
Skirts, Jumpers or Skorts: (Nunes Apparel only)Khaki (tan) color or plaid jumper/skirt.When kneeling, length should be 3-5 inches from the floor. White blouse (from Nunes only) with school logo embroidered can only be worn with the Plaid Jumper. Shorts must be worn underneath skirts and jumpers. Shorts cannot hang below skirts or jumpers. The shorts worn underneath can be any type (biker style, etc.) and do not have to be purchased from Nunes. ALL STUDENTS:
Shirts: (Nunes Apparel only)
Polo shirts only in Navy Blue with the school logo embroidered on the front. Polo shirts must be worn at all times.White or Navy turtlenecks may be worn under the polo shirt NOT INSTEAD OFthe polo shirts. Shirts must be tucked in at all times. Waist bands must show.Pants: (Nunes Apparel only)
Khaki (tan) color. Pants are not to be too tight or too loose. Pants must be worn at the natural waist.Shorts: (Nunes Apparel only)

Only navy blue sweatshirts or Sweatshirt jackets with the HCS logo allowed.No other designs or writings can be on the sweatshirts or sweatshirt jackets.It cannot be worn inside out. Hoods cannot be worn over the head indoors.Jackets: Weather permitting, Jackets are not to be worn in the classroom or chapel.
Shoes/Socks/Tights: Socks must be worn at all times and must be in colors matching the uniform.
Leggings or any other type of pants are not allowed under the skirts/skorts/jumpers.Tights may be worn in colors matching the uniform (white, black, blue, grey).No sandals, open-toed, open-backed or sling-back shoes allowed. We recommend tennis shoes. No “skate” shoes (heelies with wheels on the bottom). Hats: Hats are only allowed to be worn on the playground for medical reasons with a Doctor’s note.
Hats cannot be worn in the classroom.Hair: Hair is to be natural color. Boys must have conservative haircuts with no hair below the nape of the neck and not below
the ear lobes. Mohawks or any other type of extreme fad styles are left up to the discretion of Administration. If necessary, parents will be called.Belts: Belts must be worn at all times with pants that have belt loops for Grades 3 - 8. Belt color must match
uniforms. Belts that hang are not allowed.Other: Students who wear makeup to school will be advised to wash it off!!
Girls may wear nail polish only if it is clear or a natural light pale pink.Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.Tattoos are not allowed. (Permanent or Temporary)NO writing is allowed on clothing except school emblems or logos.All clothing must be clean, in good condition, with no holes.Earrings can be no longer than ½ inch past the ear lobe for safety reasons.Chapel Attire: (Chapel is EVERY Wednesday)
Girls must wear their uniform skirts, jumpers or skorts with the polo shirts; NO PANTS.Boys must wear long pants with the polo shirt; NO SHORTS. Uniform shorts are NOT allowed on chapel days for boys and girls. FREE DRESS GUIDELINES:
NO FREE DRESS ON WEDNESDAYSClothing must be clean with no holes, rips, or tears.Frayed and slit bottoms of pant legs are not permitted. Pants must be worn at natural waist.NO oversized or undersized styles. Clothing must not be too tight or too loose.NO gang connotations.Skirts, shorts, or dresses must be of an appropriate knee length. No mini lengths.No tank tops, crop tops, or spaghetti strap tops. No midriff showing, strapless tops, backless tops, or off the shoulder tops. ANY logos, pictures, sayings, or connotations on clothing must be appropriate in consideration of our Christian atmosphere.REMEMBER, IF IN DOUBT - PACK A UNIFORM!!We have designated every Friday as “Christian T-Shirt or HCS Spirit T-Shirt withBlue Jeans Day”. This special dress code day is optional. The Dress Code for Christian T-Shirt or HCS Spirit T-Shirt with Blue Jean Fridays is: Students have the option of wearing the school polo shirt, a Christian T-Shirt or the HCS Spirit T-Shirt with “blue” jeans on Fridays only. They may wear “blue” jean shorts, skirts, skorts, or long pants. They may NOT wear any other color of jeans.They may NOT wear Overalls (Long or short), blue jean dresses, or blue jean jumpers. Students may NOT wear the School uniform pants, skorts, skirts, or jumpers with a Christian T-Shirt or HCS Spirit T-Shirt. Students in grades 3rd through 8th must wear a belt with the jeans.You may purchase a Christian T-shirt at any Christian bookstore or make your own. The shirt must have a Christian message, a Bible verse, or a Christian picture with a verse and/or Christian message.The HCS School Spirit T-Shirts can only be purchased through Nunes Apparel Uniform Company. Every few months, the school will have order forms available to purchase the spirit T-shirts. Be sure to read your newsletters to know when they will be available for sale. They are not offered for sale year round. THIS SPECIAL DAY IS ONLY ON FRIDAYS.
IF THERE IS NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY,
THEN
THERE IS NO CHRISTIAN T-SHIRT WITH
BLUE JEAN DAY THAT WEEK.
